About the Fuel Economy converter

Fuel economy is measured two opposite ways: distance per fuel (MPG in the US, km/L in Asia) and fuel per distance (L/100km in Europe). Higher MPG is better, but lower L/100km is better — which is why converting matters.

Because the two styles are reciprocal, the conversion is a division, not a multiplication: L/100km = 235.215 ÷ MPG (US), and km/L = 100 ÷ (L/100km).
