Overview

Universal Unit Converter is designed to work without collecting personal data. You can use every converter on the site without an account, an email address, or any identifying information.

Data stored on your device

We use your browser's local storage to save your preferences and history: theme choice (dark or light), favorite conversions, recently used conversions, and cached currency exchange rates. This data never leaves your device and can be removed at any time by clearing your browser's site data.

Because this information is stored in the browser rather than an account, we cannot recover it after you clear site data or switch devices. Conversion values you type are calculated in the page and are not submitted to us as part of the unit-conversion process.

Currency rate requests

When you use the currency converter, your browser requests current exchange rates from a public exchange-rate API. That request includes only the technical information any web request carries (such as your IP address); we do not attach any personal data to it.

The rate provider may receive ordinary request details such as your IP address, browser information and time of access under its own policies. If a current request fails, a previously saved rate or an indicative fallback may be displayed instead; check the rate status before relying on it.

Advertising

The site reserves space for third-party advertising (for example, Google AdSense). When ads are enabled, the advertising provider may use cookies or similar technologies to serve and measure ads, including personalized ads where permitted by law. You can control personalized advertising through your ad provider's settings and your browser's cookie controls.

Newsletter

If you subscribe to the newsletter, your email address is used solely to send occasional updates about new converters and guides. You can unsubscribe at any time.

At present the signup on this site stores the address in this browser only; it does not enroll you in a mailing service or send an email. Clearing site data removes the locally saved address. We will update this notice if an actual mailing service is introduced.

Messages you choose to send

The contact form opens your email application with the message you entered; sending the email is your choice. If you contact us by email or WhatsApp, the content you share and your contact details are processed by your email or messaging provider as well as received by us for responding to you.

Please do not include passwords, payment details or sensitive personal information in a unit request or correction. We use correspondence to answer your inquiry and understand reported errors, not to create a public profile.

Sharing, printing and downloads

Using your device's share, print, copy or save-as-PDF controls may pass a conversion result to the app or service you select. These actions are initiated by you. Review the destination and any information included before sharing a result with someone else.

Your choices and data retention

You can remove locally stored favorites, history, theme preferences and cached rates through your browser's site-data controls. Browser storage persists until you clear it or your browser removes it. Blocking storage does not prevent basic unit conversions, but it can stop preferences and cached rates from being remembered.

If advertising is introduced, third-party providers may set their own cookies subject to their policies and your browser settings. Reserved advertisement spaces on their own do not mean an ad network is active.
